After being a part of the Washington Wizards staff for two seasons, Kristi Toliver was hired by the Dallas Mavericks. Toliver is a two time WNBA champion and is currently coaching the Mavericks at the Western Conference finals. She was a three time All-Star and previously served on the Wizards staff. Toliver played her entire playing career and returned to Los Angeles to help the Sparks win the WNBA title in 2016. Toliver, who was an assistant coach with the Wizards from February 2018, was incapacitated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Toliver worked with the Wizards' coaches during the 2018 NBA Summer League as well as during training camp. She is a two-time All-Star, a 2016 WNBA champion with the Los Angeles Sparks and a former player in the WNBA. Toliver was drafted 3rd overall by Chicago Bulls after playing college basketball for Maryland Terrapins.
James Posey
James Posey is now the Washington Wizards general manager. Posey (46), played 12 seasons in NBA and won two championships with Boston Celtics and Miami Heat. He's a versatile and skilled role player. He has a long and varied history in the NBA, including an experience as an assistant coach with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Posey is an assistant coach to Washington Wizards head coach Wes Unseld Jr. Posey was an assistant coach last season for the University of Virginia women’s team. Posey has yet to be named, but the move will take over the position left vacant by Mike Batiste's relocation to Houston.
